October/November 2023: Relating to a Chaotic Times

The world is not as it was a few years ago. There is an abundance of violence, wars and unpredictability, all on the back of COVID. These are, no doubt, devastating and chaotic times. So how do we keep ourselves managing daily life during these times?

Do what you can to help. Even a call to someone or a donation to a chosen cause can help those in need. Any good deeds are welcomed during this time.

Know who you are. Times like these can challenge who we think that we think we are. Take a few minutes to reflect on who you really are, not who others think you are.

See your life in context. What you do each day gives you overall context to your life. Be grateful for the life that you have and continue your daily activities, as usual.

Have a balance. Have times where you reflect on the hardship and suffering you see and hear about and take time to appreciate what you have in your life and continue life as usual, with some joy.

Have good times. You have done your reflecting about the current world events and what you appreciate about your life, now schedule some fun activities into your week.

These times can bring about feelings of distress above what you usually experience in your life. If you would like to talk about this in a counselling session I am here for you!
